SCA Academy team beats RMCA Academy in the AIS Tournament
It was a great start on the day of the match, where SCA Warriors (development team) won the toss and elected to bat. Ansh and Aman opened the innings against RMCA Academy. RMCA bowled well in the initial overs and were successful in getting the dangerous Ansh in the first few overs. Aryan joined Aman, and they started consolidating the innings. Both of them batted well to record a 100 run partnership, before Aman fell soon after his score of 54. Aryan followed shortly, with his personal score of 52. Yuvraj, unfortunately dragged his bat on the wicket and could not capitalize on his good start. Parimal made a confident 30, followed by a steady flow of runs from Coby’s bat. Eventually the innings folded at 181.
RMCA had a good start from their openers – one of them went on to score 40. The SCA spinners put on the brakes with a good spell. The bowling was particularly tight towards the end. Wickets fell at regular intervals for RMCA and SCA bowlers, Ansh, Aman, Amogh, Coby, Yuvraj and Khush, all managed to take wickets. With RMCA requiring only 4 runs in the last 2 overs, the match was heading to a thrilling finish. RMCA lost their last wicket in the second last over. Although RMCA lost the game by a narrow margin, their sportsmanship could be felt on the field, when they went up collectively and shook hands with the victorious SCA team.
